Remember the acronym NEIBIT before you get yourself in trouble watching the BBC news or any other news, getting yourself all scared by joining dots in your mind and ending up crying.
Not Everything You Believe Is True NEIBIT. Naa like a horse whilst watching the news. Get in touch with your horsey side. Maybe research horse sounds online so you can perfect it or visit your local farm. Safe distance please.
Proverbs 14:15 ESV “The simple man believes everything, but the prudent gives thought to his steps”
The news programs do more than just slant things whatever country you live in and this is a fallen world we live in therefore they will scare monger you.
Use discernment to filter in your mind what the news programs tell you. This means being logical, going on the facts of God’s word and getting a proper answer from a range of at least 3 reliable sources.
NEIBIT has helped me so much.
An easy way to remember:
Pronounce it “nay” (horse noise) and then “bit” (8 bits in a computer memory byte).
Build your home blanket fort with throws and sheets. Sip an iced latte whilst doing a bit of bible. Learn the art of snuggling with your family members a pets. Give Jesus virtual cuddles in faith.
Then you will see that it is written:
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
2 Corinthians 3:17 ESV
Infact, only watch the news to know what you have to do or not do. Don’t get addicted to the tasty negative Big Mac of gloating over it. The negative subliminal stuff will fatten you up and you will be more fearful:
Whoever mocks the poor insults his Maker; he who is glad at calamity will not go unpunished.
Proverbs 17:5 ESV
Examine your hearts to see if you eat TV Big Macs. I know I have to stop myself sometimes.
